THE STRUGGLING DESPITE THE STORM
You are having in your hands a special edition of the Batibo Council Echoes. This edition of the newsletter is published to highlight the activities of Batibo Council. Presented is a summary of some of what we did (projects) between the 20132018 mandate.
We started with a cruising speed, but it is with regret that we were frustrated in 2016 with the ongoing crisis. It is our hope that you enjoy the synopsis of the various projects carried out either by direct council financing or from other funders. PNDP, FEICOM, PIB were the related financiers of our projects.
We also opened up to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). CABTAL and many CSOs answered present though were disappointed because of the socio-political atmosphere around. We wanted to go international.
Many doors were knocked but the first one to open was KOICA. They made us to understand that we can add value to our agricultural produce. The few months of running the Koica Batibo Council (KBC) soap factory proves me (the council) right.
CSOs are really making us feel that they can be good partners for the council in the ongoing development strives. CABTAL is proving its worth in the Moghamo Language development and literacy project. We are really indebted to many others in the areas of infrastructural, social and income generating activities .
While you glide through the pages, feel free to bring forth development ideas that can be used in fostering our municipality. Iforti ya Kah.
