Batibo Council holds Last Technical Follow up Meeting for 2017 projects
The last technical follow up for Project for 2017 for Batibo Council has held. The meeting that held at the Batibo Council Chambers saw the attendance of the representatives from MINTP, MIMAP. MINEPAT, MINCAF, MINEPIA and the Divisional Officer for Batibo. The meeting started with a site visit to the project sites of the construction of Integrated Health Center where work is still at the foundation level. He the contractor explained that the contract was awarded late and in the heart of the rainy season so work could not commence till the dry season. However he promised that since time has been extended, he will speed up the work to meet the stipulated time frame.
At the rehabilitation of the Mbunjei – Guzang Road using the HIMO approach, the members appreciated the work done on called for the work to be finished as only the construction of the culvert heads was left. The construction site of a market hall at Nyenjei was equally visited as well as the construction of GNS Nyenjei. This particular project was a call for concern as the project has long gone into extension without any justifiable reasons. At the finishing center in Batibo, the commission members equally appreciated the work done. In all the following projects have been done at 100%; construction of a block of two classrooms at GNS Efah, GS Nyenjei, construction of IHC Kururku, construction of a market Hall at Nyenjei, rehabilitation of the finishing center Batibo, supply of benches to GS Nyenjei, supply of small tables and chairs to GNS Nyenjei and GNS Efah. The overall physical rate of execution stood at 80 % as three projects were still on going.
The members equally deliberated and resolved that control engineers of various projects should do their jobs well to avoid the precedence reserves and poor execution particularly with construction.
